Visit a Danish Hobby Beekeeper - homestay

Anne and Gert welcomes two to three persons to stay with us in our home for 1-2 nights in the period from 13-21 September. We are living in a 100 year old house in the town of Hadsten. From our home we can easily walk to Hadsten train station 10 min away with connection to Aarhus (20 minutes by train) and Copenhagen (3,5 hours by train). With easy acces to the train station you don’t need a car to visit us.
We are hobby beekeepers having 8 hives in total – 3 of them in our garden. Our beekeeping project involve the whole familiy. Gert is chairman for the local beekeper association.
We enjoy contact and interaction with people from abroad, and look forward to show and inform you about local attractions.
We can offer a single room and a room with a loft with two good mattresses on the floor. Easy acces to a shared bathroom.
You will stay in our private home together with us and we will enjoy to share Danish meals with you introducing you to our daily life.

Aarhus is Denmark’s second largest city offering a lot of possibilities and definitely worth a visit. Aarhus started as an early viking settlement around year 700. Very popular is “The old town” – an open air museum telling the story of Aarhus from viking settlement to modern city. The museum also have a very fine collection of old houses showing the way people lived from around the year 1500 undtil today.
Also the Cathedral of Aarhus has a story to tell. With a length of 93 m it is the longest church in Denmark. The construction of the Cathedral began in the latest decade of the 12th century when Aarhus was still a village.
